Role Overview
As a Veterinary Technical Advisor - Field Based (TAF), you will provide in-field technical support on a regional basis to our Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and veterinary practices. You will also support our subsidiary organisations and international distributor sales teams when necessary. Your role involves training ASMs on VetPlus products and monitoring their in-field performance to ensure technical competence. Effective communication and presentation skills are crucial for influencing and developing our sales teams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Technical Support: Assist ASMs, internal and external customers, and present Lunch and Learn sessions or one-to-one meetings to key influencers.
- Training: Conduct new starter training, ongoing product training, and regular technical tests. Provide technical support via phone and email as required.
- Field Visits: Spend time every quarter in each ASM area for practice education, accompany ASMs on field visits, and complete in-field assessments to test their technical knowledge.
- Veterinary Shows: Manage technical presence at key veterinary shows, make contact with important delegates and speakers, and document all meetings.
- Marketing Support: Contribute to developing and improving technical training formats and support materials. Collaborate with the Quality Department to respond to any SAR.
- Reporting: Submit weekly activity reports, prepare for monthly planning meetings, and log activities on CRM.
- Cultural Development: Review departmental activities, share best practices, and help develop the company culture.
- Travel: The role requires travel up to 75%.
About You
- Educational Background: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine/surgery.
- Experience: At least two years of experience as a vet in practice, preferably with some work in the veterinary pharmaceutical field. RCVS Registered.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to deliver creative and flexible solutions, and good knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Attributes: Customer-driven, honest, and acts with integrity, demonstrates high standards of personal conduct, values and respects colleagues, and takes personal responsibility for the quality of service delivered.
- Location: Ideally Oxford, Swindon, Northampton, Milton Keynes areas.
