The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre, based near Wetherby, West Yorkshire, is seeking an enthusiastic and confident Assistant Practice Manager/Practice Manager to join an established team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 RVNs, and 4 Client and Animal Care Assistants. Our Assistant Practice Manager/Practice Manager plays a vital role in both the operational and business aspects of the practice, ensuring exceptional client and patient care, supported by our Clinical Director.

Who we are: The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre deals solely with hyperthyroid cats requiring radioiodine treatment. Established in 2013, we have grown to 15 team members and we are now part of the VetPartners family.

The Role: The position is part-time/full-time, working up to 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the practice team - fostering a positive and motivated work environment
  • Handling HR responsibilities, including payroll, recruitment, staff development, and absence management
  • Managing the financial side of the business, including debt recovering processes. A knowledge of Veterinary insurance companies would be advantageous
  • Answering client queries
  • Ensuring high safety compliance, supporting the team with protocols and risk assessments
  • Marketing – including arranging and attending Vet shows, marketing materials and some social media updates, working in collaboration with our designer
  • I.T. – A knowledge of troubleshooting IT equipment and software would be advantageous
