Isabelle Vets have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our busy, RCVS accredited, small animal and equine practice in the Channel Islands at an exciting time with the opening of a large new facility planned for 2026/2027.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced vet, preferably a certificate holder, who is excited to bring their expertise to our dynamic team. If you’re driven and ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role: This position is ideal for a vet (or vet couple) with a particular interest in small animal care, equine care, or maybe a mixture of both! The role can be tailored depending on your experience, skills and interests. Full-time position, but part-time considered for the right candidate – feel free to chat with us about options. Rota - 4 days per week 8AM - 6.30PM. 1 weekend (either Saturday or full weekend) determined by rota worked in 3. On call once a week with occasional additional cover for sickness or short-notice absences. Salary – dependent on experience.
On-call retainer (paid in arrears):
- Small animal and equine on call Mon-Fri = £300
- Weekend and Bank holiday = £400
- Equine on call only Mon-Fri = £150
- Equine on call only for weekends and bank holiday = £200
About us: The practice is comprised of 9 vets, including several certificate holders, all of whom work to an extremely high standard to serve a discerning clientele. Our skilled team of 9 RVNS, 4 students (2 1st year 2 2nd year) and 5 VCAs plus our reception and admin colleagues complete our team, all working collaboratively to ensure we provide the best possible service to owners and their pets. We’re a large and happy team that are highly supportive of one another. The practice is furnished with all the equipment required to investigate and treat conditions medically and surgically, in light of the geographical limitation for referral.
The Area: Guernsey is a beautiful island, boasting a rich heritage and culture plus a laid-back atmosphere…a fabulous place to settle and make your home. It has an abundance of nature reserves, with stunning cliff walks and beaches – a truly great place to enjoy the outdoors. Residents enjoy an excellent standard of living, and the local schools are of a high standard. Islanders also benefit from a private healthcare system. There are good transport links to the UK with flight times from as little as 40 minutes or ferry sailings from just 3 hours.
