House Surgeon/Intern
Three Counties Equine Hospital is looking for two enthusiastic new or recent graduates to start a fixed-term 18-month intern position, starting in January and February 2027.
Job Description
We are a friendly first opinion ambulatory and referral hospital situated on the Worcestershire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire borders. Our interns work as part of our experienced hospital team under the supervision of senior clinicians, including diplomats in equine internal medicine and surgery.
The hospital-based role includes assisting with:
- A diverse in-patient elective and emergency caseload, including intensive care of adults and neonates
- Diagnostic imaging, including radiography, endoscopy, ultrasonography, scintigraphy & MRI
- Anaesthesia, surgery and standing surgical procedures
- Poor performance and lameness investigations and treatment
- AI of approximately 50 mares during the stud season and the opportunity to be involved in advanced reproductive techniques.
The internship rotates through internal medicine, surgery, lameness and after hours, with a dedicated out of hours week. Continuing education is provided with individual mentoring, weekly journal clubs and regular ‘in house’ CPD training. In addition, involvement in research projects is actively encouraged and supported by senior clinicians and the VetPartners clinical research team.
