Senior Insight Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Insight Analyst to join our growing Data & Insights team. This role is perfect for someone with strong commercial acumen and a passion for turning data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. As a Senior Insight Analyst, you’ll work directly with business stakeholders across departments, acting as a trusted advisor and insight partner.
While your core focus will be delivering high-impact analysis and recommendations, you’ll also support reporting and dashboard development in Power BI as needed, particularly as we continue building our modern data platform using Microsoft Fabric.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead deep-dive analysis on client and patient behaviour, commercial performance, and operational trends.
- Translate complex data into compelling stories, visualisations, and recommendations that influence business decisions.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business (e.g., commercial, marketing, finance) to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and evaluate performance through data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure the right data is available, accessible, and accurate for analysis and reporting.
- Support the development and optimisation of self‑serve dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Design and implement robust data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated columns/measures using DAX.
- Use Power Query (M) to extract, clean, and transform data from a variety of sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Optimise data refresh schedules, report performance, and query efficiency.
- Ensure data security and compliance through row‑level security (RLS), permissions, and governance best practices.
- Contribute to the standardisation of BI practices, including naming conventions, folder structures, and version control.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and strong proficiency with Power BI—including DAX, data modelling, and dashboard development—is essential. Our ideal candidate will have experience using Power Query (M) for ETL and data transformation and will be competent in data storytelling.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a data or insight role, ideally at a senior level.
- Demonstrated ability to partner directly with non‑technical stakeholders to deliver commercial insights.
- Hands‑on experience using Power BI for reporting and dashboard development.
- Solid experience in SQL and working with large, complex datasets.
- Experience of working with Sensitive Data.
- Exposure to or involvement in implementing modern data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure, etc.).
- Experience operating in a commercial or customer‑focused environment, with a clear understanding of business drivers and KPIs.
The role will be Hybrid – with regular attendance at our York Office required, to collaborate with colleagues.
