E.C. Straiton and Partners are an enthusiastic and committed mixed practice Veterinary Hospital, with a passion for providing excellent veterinary care in a friendly atmosphere. We are seeking a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our team of 14 vets, 27 RVN’s/SVN’s and support colleagues, with various certificate holders, and are very keen to develop our team and support progression.

We have a varied caseload and encourage case continuity. We undertake advanced small animal surgical procedures in house including soft tissue and orthopaedics, with extensive surgical equipment, in-house laboratory, and usual imaging equipment. There are facilities for minor equine surgical procedures with stocks, stables and knock down box, with travelling specialists visiting on a regular basis for more complex cases.

The working week is split with small animal and large animal days based in the same hospital, and preference where interests lie considered. There is a second small animal branch practice located 8 miles away which will occasionally require cover.

We work a 4-day week 8am – 6pm with a shared on-call rota and currently 3 in 13 weekends, one of which being a Saturday only and one of these weekends having the following Monday off. As a practice that delivers its own out-of-hours service, we pride ourselves on providing seamless patient care around the clock.
