We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy and supportive veterinary team as a Student Veterinary Nurse. This role offers hands-on experience in a thriving hospital environment where you'll develop your clinical skills, care for a wide range of patients, and work towards achieving your veterinary nursing qualification with full support and training.
About the Role
As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will work closely alongside our experienced nurses, veterinary surgeons, and fellow student nurses to deliver exceptional patient care. You'll gain invaluable experience across a variety of nursing disciplines while applying the knowledge learned at college to your day-to-day clinical work.
Working Pattern
- 37.5 hours per week over 5 days
- One day per week at college
- Shifts between 7:00am and 8:30pm
- 1 in 4 weekends, with time off in lieu the following week
- Working 2 bank holidays per year
Salary: £24,784.50 per annum
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering high standards of patient care alongside our nursing team
- Assisting veterinary surgeons with patient handling and restraint
- Supporting the care of both first opinion and referral patients
- A mixture of inpatient care and surgical nursing shifts
- Completing Schedule 3 procedures when appropriately trained and qualified to do so
- Maintaining excellent clinical and hygiene standards throughout the hospital
- Applying your college learning to real-life clinical situations
- Working closely with your Clinical Coach to develop your nursing skills and confidence

What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science
- Experience within the veterinary industry or animal handling experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Confidence handling cats and dogs safely and compassionately
- Excellent attention to detail
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and patient care
