Looking to grow your career as a Mixed Vet in a truly unique location? Join New Era Vets in Jersey—a long-established, community-focused practice where you’ll gain exposure to a diverse caseload and be supported to develop your skills.

About Us:

With over a century of experience, we are an RCVS-accredited practice with a well-equipped hospital in St Saviour and branches in St Helier and St Brelade. We are passionate about CPD and development, and as an island practice, we regularly manage complex cases in-house. Our supportive and friendly team includes 23 vets, with 5 in the mixed team, supported by experienced RVNs and Admin Team.

The Role:

This is a varied and rewarding role offering a true mix of work, typically involving around two days of large animal work and two days of small animal work, though this can flex depending on team availability and holidays. The position is based on a 4-day working week, supporting a positive work–life balance.

For an experienced vet, the out-of-hours commitment is focused on large animal work only. OOH duties are shared on a 12-week rota, equating to approximately:

  • 2.5–3 full weekends
  • Around 10 nights

As OOH is not particularly busy on the island, the workload remains manageable. In recognition of this commitment, you will receive:

  • 1 day in lieu for a 2.5 weekend rota
  • 2 days in lieu for a 3 weekend rota

This role offers an excellent balance of clinical variety, flexibility, and time to enjoy life outside of work.

Salary – dependent on experience

About You:

We are looking for a mixed vet who is keen to take on a varied role and continue developing and progressing their career. Ideally you will have built good initial experience and confidence in routine consultation and operations, however we are open to applications from less experienced candidates and new graduates.

Driving licence required
