About Us:
We are a well-established, RCVS accredited, small animal practice with four sites across Hartlepool, Horden, Billingham and Sedgefield. Our new Hartlepool premises (opened 2026) offers exceptional surgical, diagnostic and inpatient facilities, including CT, alongside excellent equipment across all sites such as ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, plus endoscopy and laparoscopy. Location-wise, we’re perfectly placed — with beautiful beaches, countryside, and the historic cities of Durham and York all within easy reach, offering a fantastic work-life balance. The Role:
This is a varied and rewarding position where you’ll play a key role across a range of nursing duties including nurse consultations, theatre work and some schedule 3 procedures if desired.
The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Observe and monitor health of animals
- Prepare equipment to treat animals
- Perform procedures to diagnose animal disease and injuries
- Prepare medicine and handle treatment for animals
- Care for and clean up after animals
- Communicate with clients about status of animals
- Clinical coach to Student Veterinary Nurses
Hours/Rota:
We are committed to flexibility and work-life balance and we’re happy to discuss options: Full-time (4 days per week, 8am–7pm) or part-time hours. Some share of the Saturday rota would be ideal. No Sundays, no bank holidays, and no OOH!
Salary up to £30,000 pro rata, depending on experience

- A confident nurse with a strong clinical skillset and the experience to work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team
- A strong communicator with a caring, professional approach
- Proactive, reliable, and a true team player
- Passionate about delivering high standards of patient and client care
- Keen to support others and act as a Clinical Coach either immediately or as you develop within the role
You’ll be joining a practice with a loyal client base, where building meaningful relationships and delivering outstanding care really matters.
