Abbey Veterinary Group, Greenock are looking for a proactive and compassionate full-time RVN to join our dedicated and caring team. We are an RCVS accredited, well-established, friendly, mixed practice with surgeries in Paisley and Greenock. You will be joining a supportive network of vets, nurses, ACAs and receptionists. We aim to provide excellent first opinion care to our patients, and a great service to our loyal, long-standing clients.

Our facilities include:

  • Two operating theatres with multi-parameter monitors
  • The latest Karl Storz laparoscopy equipment for performing lap spays
  • A fully equipped lab with the latest haematology, biochemistry, electrolyte and therapeutic monitoring analysers
  • An ultrasound scanner
  • Digital radiography
  • A dedicated dental x-ray unit

The Role:

  • Full-time – 40 hours per week
  • Based at our Greenock branch
  • Permanent position
  • No on-call duties and 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday 8-3, Sunday 9-12.30)
  • Salary – £26,000 - £33,000

Duties are based on a rota system consisting of:

  • Caring for both medical and surgical patients post op
  • Assisting vets in both theatre and prep area
  • Ordering and stock control of pharmacy
  • Caring for isolation patients
  • Lab work

In addition, we would like to increase our availability of nurse consultations and develop a range of nurse clinics. Personal growth is actively encouraged, and we would welcome candidates looking to do further qualifications.

Greenock is a historic town on the banks of the river Clyde, with stunning views across to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and coastal towns and beaches all nearby. There are great transport links by bus, train and ferry to nearby places such as Glasgow, Dunoon and Largs. If you’re going by car Glasgow is just 45 minutes away.
