About Us

We’re a RCVS-accredited, two-site small animal practice based in Bury and Bolton, with a 24-hour A&E hospital in Bury. Our caseload is diverse, fast-paced, and always rewarding. You’ll work alongside an incredible team of:

  • 14 Vets
  • 20 Nurses, Student Nurses and Animal Care Assistants
  • 13 dedicated support colleagues

Our hospital is fully equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities — everything you need to deliver gold-standard emergency and inpatient care.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for emergency and inpatient care. Experience of critical care would be advantageous.

Key details:

  • One week of nights on, one week off – giving you a great work / life balance
  • 7 days on duty, Monday to Sunday, 8.5 hours per shift 1-10pm (average 29.75 hours per week)
  • Occasional overtime available

You’ll be part of a close-knit team that supports each other, handles a wide range of emergencies, and delivers outstanding patient care around the clock.

Competitive salary - up to £25,989.60 (£34,944 FTE) depending on experience

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Provides a high level of care to hospitalised patients, always ensuring patient comfort and welfare.
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of medical conditions
  • Effectively manages time and prioritises workload when caring for multiple hospitalised patients.
  • Assists with and performs triage for emergency appointments.
  • Is proactive and forward-thinking, preparing in advance for potential emergency cases.
  • Has strong communication and organisational skills
  • Is able to work under pressure with multiple emergencies
