We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our out-of-hours team.

About us:

Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic (SVEC) is a dedicated Emergency Clinic providing emergency out-of-hours services for veterinary practices in the Somerset Region. SVEC provides OOH services to member local veterinary practices for nights, weekends and bank holidays and is based in the RCVS-accredited Quantock Veterinary Hospital. We are based in the beautiful area of Somerset close to the coast and the rolling Quantock Hills. We see a good variety of small animal cases including exotics and wildlife. We want our colleagues to pursue their interests and so certificates and CPD are encouraged and funded. Our team is amazing; we have routine socials, a great support network and most of all a fabulous sense of humour.

About the role:

Your role will involve managing the telephone calls, arranging appointments and triaging patients upon arrival at the hospital allowing the remaining team to have dedicated time for inpatient care and consults as needed. Additionally, as part of your role you will assist and support the night team. You will work alongside a night RVN who will be looking after the inpatients and preparing for OOH surgeries, and an on-site night veterinary surgeon. The hours available are Friday 1900-2330, Saturday 1600-2330 and Sunday 1600-2330 every other week, averaging 9.75 hrs per week.
