Ready for an RVN role that offers real variety, genuine balance and a workplace that supports your wellbeing?

We’re excited to welcome a new RVN to our friendly team at Abbey Vets!

You will be based primarily at our main Abergavenny site, with some cover required at our Tredegar, Brecon and Monmouth branches.

For full-time applicants, the role follows a structured 6-week rolling rota - including one full week off in every six-week cycle. This built-in recovery week provides genuine time to reset, plan holidays creatively, or simply enjoy extended time away from work.

** Salary up to Β£31,000 per annum (DOE)

About Us:

Abbey Vets is home to 12 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 3 ACAs working across four well-equipped, RCVS-accredited practices.

With 13 Veterinary Surgeons - including a certificate holder in Medicine and another currently working towards a Surgery certificate, we provide a varied and interesting caseload. Our main Abergavenny site provides 24-hour nursing for inpatients, ensuring excellent continuity and standards of patient care.

The Role

You will utilise your nursing skills fully, supporting high standards of clinical and client care within a friendly and professional team.

Confidence in assisting with routine surgery, diagnostic imaging and nurse consultations is desirable. Sole charge experience is advantageous but not essential - full training and support will be provided.

For full-time applicants, the 6-week rolling rota consists of:

β€’ Week 1 – Procedures (10:00–19:00)
β€’ Week 2 – Consulting (09:00–18:30)
β€’ Week 3 – Theatre (08:30–17:30)
β€’ Week 4 – Kennels (08:00–17:00) including Saturday 08:00–19:00

β€’ Week 5 – Nights (Inpatients only, 18:00–08:30)
β€’ Week 6 – Week Off

Our OOH service is outsourced; however, we retain our own inpatients from Monday 9am to Saturday 6pm to ensure continuity of care.
