About Us
We are a RCVS-accredited, two-site small animal practice based in Bury and Bolton, with a 24-hour A&E hospital in Bury. Our caseload is diverse, fast-paced, and highly rewarding, offering excellent exposure to both routine and emergency cases. You'll be supported by a fantastic, experienced team:
- 20 RVNs, Student Nurses & Animal Care Assistants
- 13 dedicated support colleagues
Our hospital is fully equipped with:
- Digital X-ray
- In-house laboratory
Providing everything you need to deliver gold-standard patient care.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position, perfect for a vet seeking a balanced workload without out-of-hours commitments or sole charge responsibilities. The role will involve general veterinary duties, including consultations and inpatient/ward care, with the option to undertake occasional surgical days. Surgical work is entirely optional, making this equally suitable for candidates who prefer a consult-only focus. As part of a practice that provides out-of-hours services to local member clinics, you’ll have exposure to a diverse and engaging caseload—ideal for maintaining and developing your clinical expertise.
Salary – up to £32,000 (£64,000 FTE) dependent on experience
Working Pattern
- Part-time: 20 hours per week
- 2 days per week: Wednesday + either Thursday or Friday
- 8:00am – 6:30pm
- 10:00am – 8:30pm (Flexible working options available, including possible school hours for the right candidate)
- 8:00am – 7:00pm or 10:00am – 8:00pm
Paid in addition to salary No OOH!
We’re looking for an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon who:
- Has built good initial experience and confidence in routine consultations and pet well-being
- If interested in joining the surgical rota must be confident in routine surgical procedures
- Demonstrates empathy and compassion
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
