About us: We are a small animal only practice spread across 4 sites. Our main site, which opened in 1950, is located in the seaside town of Hartlepool, surrounding branches have since opened in Horden, Billingham and Sedgefield too. We are fortunate to have access not only to some outstanding beaches but also a stone's throw away from beautiful countryside and the historic cities of Durham and York. We will soon be looking to relocate our main surgery in Hartlepool and to expand our team accordingly. We have exciting plans to include CT in our new site. We are already well equipped at all our sites including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray and endoscopy / laparoscopy. We encourage all our colleagues to grow within the practice by focusing on what they are passionate about and passing on that passion to the rest of the team. Several of our RVNs are working towards certificates such as medicine, anaesthesia and surgical nursing.
The Role: Your work-life balance is important to us and we're happy to discuss hours, whether that's full time (8am -7pm 4 days a week) or part time. Some share of the Saturday rota would be ideal. We don't work Sundays or bank holidays and there are no OOH requirements. Salary up to £30,000 per annum pro rata depending on experience. The role is varied, including nurse consultations, theatre work and some schedule 3 procedures if desired.
The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Observe and monitor health of animals
- Prepare equipment to treat animals
- Perform procedures to diagnose animal disease and injuries
- Prepare medicine and handle treatment for animals
- Care for and clean up after animals
- Communicate with clients about status of animals
- Clinical coach to Student Veterinary Nurses
Who we're looking for: We're looking for a likeminded individual who is motivated and has a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be happy to be a clinical coach either straight away or at some point in the future. We have many clients who have been with us for years, so we need someone conscientious and keen to build a rapport with clients and develop their own role within the practice.
