We are a first-opinion practice with a strong reputation for high clinical standards, excellent client care, and a genuinely supportive working environment. Our long-serving team includes 15 vets, a dedicated nursing team, experienced reception colleagues and a supportive administrative team who are all proud of the care they provide and the culture they work in.

As Clinical Director, you will have overall responsibility for the clinical and strategic leadership of the practice. Working closely alongside the practice leadership team, you will help shape the future of Ash Tree Vets by maintaining excellent clinical standards and outstanding client services, supporting team development and ensuring the continued success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Line management and support of senior team members and the veterinary surgeon team.
  • Oversight of clinical standards, performance and patient care.
  • Leading, coaching and developing clinical teams.
  • Contributing to financial sustainability through service development, purchasing decisions and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Responsibility for operational aspects of the business.
  • Working collaboratively with your Business Development Director and engaging with the wider VetPartners network and external stakeholders.

This is an autonomous role with the opportunity to make a real impact. You will play a key part in mentoring and developing your team, supporting both clinical and leadership growth and acting as a champion for our culture and values. You will also be a guardian of our reputation as a practice known not only for excellent care, but for being a great place to work.

You will be supported locally by a Practice Manager, experienced Lead Vet team, Head Nurse and Head Receptionist, with additional support from your Business Development Director and a knowledgeable central support team. The clinical team is highly experienced and skilled. There is a strong culture of case discussion, collaboration and mentoring embedded throughout the team. This creates a stable and supportive environment, enabling a Clinical Director to concentrate on advancing the practice and driving innovation whilst contributing to the clinical rota.

We are looking for a confident MRCVS with strong clinical skills and a collaborative, people-centred approach to leadership. You will be a compassionate and approachable leader who values open communication, builds trust within their team and measures success by the success of others. Excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise and delegate and a progressive mindset are essential. We are keen to find someone who is motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about shaping the future of the practice through a whole-team approach.

Previous leadership experience is preferable but not essential. Full training and support will be provided, including access to the VetPartners Senior Leadership Course. Internal applicants are warmly encouraged to apply.
