About the Practice

We are a small animal and exotics practice on the Fylde coast, established in 2005, with separate areas for dogs, cats and exotic species.

Role

Full‑time vet working a 3‑day week (8:30 am – 7 pm), with one weekday night on call every two weeks and Saturday mornings 8:30 am – 12 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Consult patients efficiently and perform at least basic surgeries.
  • Provide sole charge OOH cover and support emergency operations.
  • Collaborate with the main operating vet, support staff (RVNs, VCAs) and monitor hospitalized patients.
  • Make rostered calls and discuss cases with the team.
  • Respond to on‑call overnight when required and use on‑site accommodation during infrequent on‑call shifts.

Qualifications

Newly qualified or experienced vet. Comfortable with sole charge for OOH cover, efficient consultation skills and basic surgical competence.

Salary

Starter salary of £45,000, with potential up to £65,000 for more experience.
