We’re looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, supportive team at Beechwood Veterinary Group, a well-established 5-site small animal practice in Leeds.
About the Role
This role would suit a Vet with experience who is keen to deliver exceptional patient and client care while working within a supportive, collaborative team. You’ll be joining a team of 12 Veterinary Surgeons, many with certificates and special interests, supported by an outstanding group of Veterinary Nurses and Receptionists who genuinely enjoy working together.
About the Practice
We’re incredibly proud of our facilities and recent growth. You’ll be working in a modern, well-equipped practice with all the “usual toys” — plus more. We are proud to be a Nurse training practice and are also a host practice for final-year Surrey Veterinary School students.
We truly believe great vets need great balance. Our vets work a full time 38 hour week over 4 days: 1 × 11-hour shift, 3 × 9-hour shifts (1-hour unpaid lunch break). Shifts start at 8.30am. Saturdays: approx. 1 in 5-6 - 8.30am-6.30pm with a day off the week before or after a Saturday worked. No Sundays or OOH shifts. Bank Holidays – shared out equally in the team (closed Christmas and Boxing Day).
The Role
Your role will include a mix of consultations and surgery, with the opportunity to manage a varied caseload and build strong client relationships. The role is likely to be:
- One day operating shift at the main Temple House site
- One day operating (with PM consulting) at our Beeston
- One day consulting or operating (rota dependent) at the main Temple House site
About You
We’re looking for a vet who:
- Has experience in a busy small animal first opinion setting
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative, supportive team
- Is confident managing consults and surgical procedures
- Is passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care
Requirements
- RCVS membership (required) - annual RCVS, VDS and two other memberships paid by the Practice
- Proven experience with strong surgical and consulting skills
