We're a RCVS-accredited, two-site small animal practice based in Bury and Bolton, with a 24-hour A&E hospital in Bury. Our caseload is diverse, fast-paced, and always rewarding.
You'll work alongside an incredible team of:
- 14 Vets
- 20 Nurses, Student Nurses and Animal Care Assistants
- 13 dedicated support colleagues
Our hospital is fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory facilities — everything you need to deliver gold-standard emergency and inpatient care.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for emergency and inpatient care. Experience of critical care would be advantageous.
Schedule: One week of nights on, one week off – giving you a great work/life balance. 7 days on duty, Monday to Sunday, 8.5 hours per shift 1-10pm (average 29.75 hours per week). You'll be part of a close-knit team that supports each other, handles a wide range of emergencies, and delivers outstanding patient care around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of care to hospitalised patients, always ensuring patient comfort and welfare.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of medical conditions.
- Effectively manage time and prioritise workload when caring for multiple hospitalised patients.
- Assist with and perform triage for emergency appointments.
- Be proactive and forward-thinking, preparing in advance for potential emergency cases.
- Have strong communication and organisational skills.
- Be able to work under pressure with multiple emergencies.
