Job Responsibilities

• Service, set up, operate, maintain, adjust, and overhaul high‑speed manufacturing machinery including stamping and forming presses.
• Run the manufacturing line to maximize production efficiency.
• Inspect to ensure that product meets current standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine necessary repairs, and restore defective equipment to service.
• Effectively direct trainees, helpers, and other assigned employees.
• Prepare and maintain reports and records in relation to production, quality, efficiency, and maintenance.
• Maintain the working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring safety for self and others.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic repairing and troubleshooting mechanical machinery.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, handbooks, specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists, and other written material associated with the job.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, micrometers, dial indicators, vernier calipers, and other precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools used on the job.
• Must provide a complete set of mechanic hand tools associated with the job.
• Must pass the Silgan Containers Corporation Can Line Mechanic test.
• Technical or Vocational College preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Salary: $24.72 per hour to $30.18 per hour depending on experience.
