What if your nursing role reminded you why you became an RVN in the first place? Not just running consults and theatre, but being trusted, supported, and genuinely part of the clinical decision-making.

Welcome to Hoylake Veterinary Surgery, a friendly, well-equipped, one-site practice where people enjoy coming to work. It’s a place where the team has your back, clients are valued, and personality counts just as much as experience.

You’ll be hands-on across the day, from consults and inpatient care to theatre and investigations. One minute you’re supporting surgery, the next you’re monitoring anaesthetics, running diagnostics, or helping work up a case. There’s variety, responsibility, and the chance to keep learning.

We won’t leave you on your own to figure things out. This is a collaborative team where people actually talk through cases, support each other, and share ideas. No unnecessary pressure, no micromanagement, just a group of people who care about doing a good job.

The clinic itself is well kitted out with X-ray, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, laparoscopy and a full in-house lab, so when you want to investigate something properly, you can.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Nurse consults and client support
  • Assisting in surgery and anaesthesia monitoring
  • Inpatient care and seeing cases through
  • Assist with ops, support investigations and diagnostics
  • Occasional house visits when appropriate
  • Helping support students and develop others

What matters here:

  • You care about your patients and your work
  • You’re good with people, clients and colleagues
  • You’re happy asking questions and sharing ideas
  • You bring personality, not just qualifications
  • Everything else can be developed.

You’ll get a strong support package (Fees paid for, CPD, pension, private medical) and a competitive salary based on your experience.

The lifestyle bit.

You’re five minutes from the beach. There’s a park next door, plus great cafés, pubs, and gyms nearby. Liverpool, Chester, North Wales, and Manchester are all within easy reach, so you get the lifestyle without the chaos.

Finish work, get some fresh air, and actually switch off.

So, what’s next? If you’re looking for a role where your voice matters, your growth is encouraged, and you’re genuinely supported to become the best nurse you can be, this could be the move that changes everything.

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. We’re far more interested in the person behind it.

Come and join us in Hoylake, where you will be trusted, supported, and encouraged to grow.
