Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal – Mapperley, Nottinghamshire. £50,000 – £55,000 DOE. Full-time | No OOH.

The Vet Office is working in partnership with a well-established small animal practice in the Mapperley area of Nottinghamshire, seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their expanding, fast-paced, and highly supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet who enjoys a varied caseload, high clinical standards, and working within a genuinely team-focused environment.

About the Practice

The practice is proud to be a Gold Cat Friendly Clinic and an RCVS-accredited Training Practice, with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients. Ideally located close to the Peak District and Nottingham city centre, the practice offers bright, spacious, and modern facilities, including:

  • In-house laboratory
  • Digital and dental X-ray
  • Separate wards for dogs, cats, and rabbits
  • Laparoscopy equipment (regular laparoscopic spays and cystoscopy)

The veterinary team consists of 5 experienced vets, many of whom hold or are working towards certificates (including Exotics, Surgery, Imaging, and Dentistry). This creates an excellent learning environment with exposure to a wide and interesting caseload. The vets are supported by a strong team of 5 RVNs and 7 experienced receptionists, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and a positive workplace culture.

The Role

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week
  • 1 in 5 weekend rota
  • Saturday: 9:00–16:30
  • Sunday: 10:00–15:30
  • No out-of-hours work
  • Opportunity to work within a busy, well-equipped practice with excellent clinical support
