An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surgical Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established independent small animal hospital in Dublin. This position is ideal for a veterinarian with a strong interest in surgery, whether already holding a surgical certificate or looking to work towards one. You will be joining a busy and supportive team, working within a hospital environment that offers a strong and varied surgical caseload.
The role includes both routine and advanced soft tissue procedures, with real scope to develop and expand surgical services. Surgical exposure includes:
- BOAS surgery
- Perineal hernia repair
- Thyroidectomy
- Anal sacculectomy
- Complex mass removals
- Extracapsular cruciate repair
There is excellent opportunity to further grow your surgical skills and shape the direction of surgical services within the practice.

- Independent, well-established small animal hospital
- Experienced team of 7 vets (5 FTE) supported by skilled nurses and support staff
- Strong caseload with loyal client base
- Exposure to exotic cases available (optional)

As an independent practice, there is genuine flexibility to develop new ideas, services, and clinical interests — particularly within surgery.
What’s on offer:
- Salary: €65,000 – €85,000 depending on experience
- Full-time position (part-time considered)
- 20 days annual leave
