A well-established, RCVS-accredited small animal practice is currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their friendly and dedicated team. Established in 2000, the practice focuses solely on the care of small animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and offers full surgical and medical facilities, along with minor procedures and on-site hospitalisation. Out-of-hours care is covered by an external provider.

The successful candidate will be involved in all areas of the practice, from surgical and medical nursing to client care and reception duties. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring anaesthesia and providing surgical assistance
  • Administering medications and conducting diagnostic imaging
  • Providing high-level nursing care to hospitalised patients
  • Supporting vets in consultations and client communication
  • Conducting nurse clinics and advising on preventative care and nutrition
  • Handling administrative tasks such as patient admissions/discharges, insurance forms, appointment bookings, and payments

This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), with a 9-hour shift pattern (including 1-hour unpaid lunch break), operating Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 6:30pm. Saturday shifts (8:30am-12:30pm) are on a shared rota. The practice is open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS)
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and highly organised
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • Comfortable with client interaction and reception duties
  • A full UK driving licence is helpful but not essential
