The Vet Office is working on behalf of a well-established small animal practice in Morden (Greater London) that has been serving the local community for over 25 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, supportive, and well-structured clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking for a stable, well-equipped practice with a strong team culture and a manageable rota.
The Practice
- Long-established, reputable practice with a loyal client base
- Supportive team environment including:
- Lead Veterinary Surgeon
- Registered Veterinary Nurses
- Student and support staff
- Separate cat and dog waiting areas
- 3 consultation rooms
- Fully equipped theatre
- Digital X-ray and dental X-ray
- Advanced ultrasound equipment
- In-house laboratory
The Role
- Full-time position: 4 days per week
- Shifts: 9:00am – 7:00pm
- 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital (with full clinical support)
- Opportunity to work within a collaborative, progressive clinical environment
- £3,000 sign-on bonus available
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to clients
- Maintain high standards of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance
- Create tailored treatment plans with transparent cost estimates
- Support, mentor, and develop colleagues within the team
- Complete thorough clinical handovers and arrange referrals or OOH care where required
- Contribute positively to clinical standards and best practice across the wider group
Candidate Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
- Proven experience in small animal practice
- Strong clinical and client communication skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to demonstrate leadership when required
- Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
- Interest in maintaining and contributing to a progressive clinical culture
