We are currently recruiting a Surgical Veterinary Surgeon / Surgical Lead for an independent and well-established small animal hospital located in Dublin, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon with a genuine passion for surgery who is looking to work within a supportive, experienced and collaborative team while continuing to develop advanced surgical skills.
The Role
The practice is looking for a vet with a strong interest in soft tissue surgery. The position would suit:
- A veterinary surgeon already holding a surgical certificate
- A vet interested in working towards a surgical certificate with full support from the practice
The hospital has a busy and varied surgical caseload including:
- BOAS surgery
- Perineal hernia repair
- Thyroidectomy
- Anal sacculectomy
- Complex mass removals
- Extracapsular cruciate repair
- Routine soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics
There is also significant opportunity to further develop surgical services and bring new ideas into the practice.
About the Practice
This is a busy independent small animal hospital with:
- 7 veterinarians (5 FTE)
- Experienced RVN and support team
- Loyal and established client base
- Strong focus on teamwork and collaboration
- Excellent clinical support and case discussion culture
The practice also sees a large number of exotic patients, with several vets in the team having a special interest in exotics. Involvement with exotic cases is completely optional. As an independent practice, the hospital offers flexibility, fast decision-making and real opportunities for vets to shape and develop services within the clinic.
