At The Vet Office, we are currently recruiting a Head Veterinary Surgeon for a well-established, modern small animal practice located in Portsmouth, UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary professional looking to step into a leadership role, working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment focused on clinical excellence.

The Role

As Head Vet, you will play a key role in leading the clinical team and driving high standards of care across the practice. You will be part of the management team, contributing to the strategic direction of the clinic while mentoring and developing colleagues. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the veterinary team
  • Maintaining and improving clinical standards
  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care
  • Coaching and mentoring vets and nurses
  • Contributing to the overall performance and growth of the practice

What We're Looking For

  • Experienced small animal vet with strong clinical skills
  • Previous leadership or senior experience preferred
  • Passion for high-quality patient care

Working Hours

Full-time position 4 days per week 1 in 4 weekends Total: 39 hours per week
