Working pattern: Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK. We have a vacancy for a coordinator for our AMR team. This job puts you at the heart of the VMD’s AMR policy team as we deliver Defra’s commitments in the UK’s 5 year action plan for antimicrobial resistance, which supports the UK’s 20-year vision for AMR. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-Defra delivery of the UK’s National Action Plan, alongside playing a critical role in coordinating the delivery of the VMD AMR team\’s two flagship AMR surveillance reports. We require some experience in or awareness of the following, or a demonstrable ability to get up to speed with them rapidly: Understanding of scientific/ biological principles Experience working in policy space or similar. Proven ability to write clearly and concisely / write policy briefs Experience of presenting complex topics to non-expert, sometimes senior, colleagues, both orally and in writing. Ability to build a strong network across government. Ability to work well across a team and encourage others. Project coordination or Programme management skills Experience of working within a fast paced work area where excellent time management and forward planning have been important for doing the job effectively.
