Vet Vision AI is pioneering smarter, veterinary driven animal welfare through computer vision AI. We are seeking a Hardware Field Technician to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of our hardware infrastructure across customer sites. This hands-on role spans install scoping, configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance. You will work closely with our internal hardware and commercial teams and at times our subcontractors to ensure smooth on-site delivery, reliable system performance, and a strong feedback loop between the field and HQ.

No two days are the same - you may be planning installs and configuring hardware one day then installing or upgrading hardware in the field the next. The ideal applicant will be within a commutable distance (approx. 30 miles) to our HQ in Belper. Regular travel throughout the UK will be required.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Hardware Scoping: Create bespoke install plans based on our customers' yard or farm layout. Ensure install plans are accurately recorded and can be easily followed by our subcontractors.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management including allocation, stock records, and dispatch to support deployments.
  • Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Carry out onsite system installations, following installation plans. Ensure systems are installed to a high standard. You will be required to perform work safely at heights, from ladders, cherry pickers, and other temporary work platforms within busy dairy farms and equine yards. Carry out necessary configuration of hardware. Perform diagnostics, feeding this back to the relevant teams. Work with the Hardware Lead to deploy fixes or carry out upgrades. Visit sites to carry out on-the-ground diagnostics and system upgrades.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong interest in hardware deployment, logistics and the desire to be part of a high-performance team.
  • Passion for animal welfare; you care about the mission, not just the numbers.
  • A self-starter mindset, comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on, practical experience with tools, electrical or construction work is ideal.
  • Able to manage time independently, complete tasks efficiently and tackle challenges you may not have encountered before head-on.
  • You take pride in your work to deliver the highest quality service to our customers.
  • Willingness to Travel: Close to the office in Belper, Derbyshire for collection of equipment etc. On weeks where installs are not being carried out, we require 1-2 days in the office. Planned and regular travel to customer sites within the UK. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Desirable: Experience working in the agricultural and/or equestrian sectors would be highly advantageous.

Other: IPAF 3A and 3B (or equivalent) training will be provided as it is a necessary requirement for working at heights. Will need to pass BPSS clearance conducted by Secure Screening Limited, this is due to our work with the MoD.
