Here at Boyce & Houston Vets, we have an excellent opportunity for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join our friendly team, where we pride ourselves on providing high quality veterinary care in a supportive and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Will Include Performing surgical procedures with precision and care. Conducting thorough examination of animals to diagnose medical conditions. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patients. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for their pets. Lab work-up and diagnostic imaging – including dental x-ray and ultrasonography. Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff for optimal patient care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. This is a part time role working 30 hours per week, preferably a Monday, Wednesday and Friday however we can be flexible, alongside a share in 1 in 4 Saturdays. There is no sole charge or out of hours requirement. About Us We are a well-established, friendly small animal practice in the west of Glasgow in Clydebank. We moved into our refurbished practice in January 2019. We are located on the outskirts of Glasgow, close to Glasgow Airport, the city centre and Loch Lomond with good public transport links. Our practice has recently achieved General Practice level RCVS accreditation and has recently been refurbished. We are located in Clydebank, 30 minutes from Glasgow and Loch Lomond with good transport links. The practice is fully equipped with 2 operating theatres, 5 consult rooms, separate cat and dog wards, Ultrasonography, digital x-ray with Signal Pet AI, in-house biochemistry and haematology. We have a generous CPD budget, the opportunity to further advance your skills and training and RCVS fees are reimbursed. Our team consists of 8 Vets, 1 Head Nurse, 3 RVNs, a Practice Manager and 5 Receptionists. One of our veterinary surgeons is retiring later this year, which has provided this vacancy as we have very low staff turnover. Two of our nurses have ECC certificates, and we have a qualified OV Vet. We fundraise for Flutterby (Cystic Fibrosis) charity with an annual cycle, we have had some of our team participate in the Doddie Weir Walk, Fund raising for Street Vet and Homeless boxes at Christmas. We are proud to have a very low staff turnover and a very friendly and experienced team.
