Here at Orwell Veterinary Group, we are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our team and participate in the consulting or surgery rota. You will need a full driving license to drive between our main hospital and 2 branch surgeries.
Our caseload includes small animal cases such as dentistry (including dental x-ray), basic orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, imaging (digital x-ray, new ultrasound machine, and endoscopy), medicine, and laparoscopic surgery.

We can be flexible on the number of days and hours per week. Shifts are usually 08:30-18:30, with early and late shifts during 8am-7pm. Some weekends are required, but this depends on weekly hours; current full-time vets work 1 in 5 Saturdays from 8am-12:30pm. There are no out-of-hours duties in this role.
About Orwell Veterinary Group: Based in Ipswich, Suffolk, Orwell Veterinary Group has a tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital and 2 consulting-only branches. Our Grange Farm Hospital features 3 consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, imaging room, ICU, isolation unit, separate dog and cat wards, and a spacious prep area. We are equipped with laparoscopic tools, dental radiography, a new ultrasound machine, and standard hospital equipment. The practice is located near Ipswich, offering a mix of town and rural environments, close to beaches and with a direct train route to London.
Join our friendly and supportive team! Our team comprises 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Nurses, and support staff working across 3 sites. We have several certificate holders or those pursuing certificates in Surgery, Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Imaging, and Cardiology. Our team values clinical excellence, infection prevention, and reducing antibiotic use. We support CPD and career development.
