We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and professional Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Rhodes Vets, Northampton.

Whilst varied and rewarding, this can be a busy and challenging role, and the ability to work well under pressure is essential. The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable, flexible and eager to learn new processes all the time. You will need to be proactive, ensuring all jobs are performed to a high standard every day. On-the-job training will be given, and ongoing training is encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in clients and their pets in a friendly and professional way
  • Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
  • Assist with client queries and provide information about veterinary services
  • Maintain accurate records of client information, medical history, and treatments
  • Process payments and handle financial transactions
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and emails
  • Carrying out requests from management as needed
  • Maintaining stock and ordering supplies
  • Preparing and supplying veterinary pharmaceuticals to customers under veterinary instruction.
  • Dealing and speaking with other veterinary-related businesses.
  • Promoting practice services

More About You

The successful candidate must possess strong and experienced customer service skills, be comfortable using a computer and will need to be confident and able to interact with our clients, providing a consistently high level of service and customer care in our busy reception. Experience in working independently would be advantageous as there may be an element of lone working at our Far Cotton Surgery. Previous experience working in a veterinary reception is desirable, although not essential.

Your shift pattern

This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work shifts on a rota basis that will fall between our opening hours of 8 am to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. You will also be required to work 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, 8 am until 12:30 pm at our Kingsthorpe surgery. The position is mainly based at our Kingsthorpe surgery, but having a full driving licence and your car is essential, as you will be required to travel to our Far Cotton surgery to carry out all or part of your shift most weeks.
