We\’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly, innovative small animal practice located in beautiful leafy Twickenham. This is an essential role working alongside our clinical and non clinical team to provide exceptional veterinary and client care. We are proud of our excellent reputation, which is down to our fantastic and welcoming staff.
As part of your role, you will be involved in:
- General cleaning, tidying, and washing particularly of clinical areas such as theatres
- Running laboratory tests such as blood tests
- Re-stocking equipment
- Supporting and setting up surgical procedures
- Animal handling and restraint
- Walking, grooming and feeding hospitalised animals (inpatients)
- Supporting the reception team when needed, including:
- Meeting and welcoming clients
- Answering the telephone and dealing with clients appropriately
- Arranging/rescheduling appointments (when required)
The rota
We pride ourselves on offering flexible working arrangements designed to support a work-life balance that works for you-whether you prefer fixed hours or a more adaptable schedule.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday with no weekends and no OOH! Shifts are usually 8:00am -4:30pm or 11:00am – 7:30pm. We are also happy to consider part-time applicants.

Twickenham Veterinary Surgery is based in Twickenham, a suburban town with access to lovely cafes, restaurants, and parks. Our Surgery lies on the River Thames and is 10 miles west of Charing Cross, 2 miles south-east of Hounslow, and 2.6 miles north-west of Kingston upon Thames with access to some great transport links.
We have excellent facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitor, endoscope, laser, a dedicated nurse\’s consulting room and we take pride in the work we do

Joining our dedicated team, you\’ll work alongside five experienced vets. Our team also includes 4 full-time veterinary nurses, three part-time nurses, and six supportive staff members.
