We have an exciting new opportunity at The Vet Centre for a part‑time Veterinary Receptionist. This is a fixed‑term contract lasting approximately six months. Join a proud and dedicated team of pet care professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting clients and their pets with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Scheduling appointments and managing the appointment calendar, including future appointments.
  • Answering phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from clients.
  • Collecting and updating client information in the database.
  • Handling medication.
  • Admin duties including scanning and organising paperwork.
  • Processing payments and debt management.
  • Cleaning.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in a reception role is required.
  • At least one year of demonstrable reception experience; veterinary or other practice experience ideal.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Highly self‑motivated with strong customer service skills.

Shift Pattern:

  • Up to 40 hours per week.
  • Saturdays: 9 am – 12 pm.
  • Sundays: 11 am – 1 pm.
  • Rotas produced at least eight weeks in advance.
  • Potential extra hours to cover holidays and sickness.
