Is it time for you to take the next step in your career? Are you ready to be a Senior Veterinary Surgeon?
THE PLACE
Senior Veterinary Surgeon wanted for our Winlaton, Tyne and Wear practice. Located in a part of the world where home ownership is more accessible, and a higher standard of living is achievable on the salaries we offer our staff. A short distance from the beautiful Northumberland countryside, the coast, and more cosmopolitan centres such as Newcastle for city pleasure, and Durham for a medieval cathedral town, we feel there is something for everyone and any occasion.
THE PRACTICE
We are Vet GPD registered, working towards our RCVS Practice Standards Scheme and are a nurse training practice. Everyone who works here is supported in their professional development. Succession within the practice is also a possibility if you’d like to put down roots. We have every toy you could think of with more on the way, and a fully comprehensive in-house Idexx lab for the inpatient.
YOU
An interest and ability to lead a clinical team is preferred; full leadership training (12 month course) is available if keen. We want you to enjoy working as part of a close team and take the job, but not yourself, seriously. Attitude and work ethic is what we consider of highest importance and the rest will come. Impressive swearing will go in your favour.
THE TEAM
We won’t mislead you and tell you we are an ordinary, normal practice because that’s a lie. We are weird, and proudly so. We believe in coming to work and being the best that you can be at it, then going home and having a life outside of it also. We have a scope of experience in our 4 Vet team from recent graduate to Surgery Certificate holder, as well as a sister practice for support. We have a close relationship with our nearby referral hospital. Weekly Vet meetings are held and we have a designated Vet Slack group to bounce ideas around with the entire Veterinary team when a snap decision needs to be made. Our monthly Microsoft Teams journal club has become the beating heart of our approach to EBVM, enjoyed by clinical and non-clinical team members alike.
