Location: Carnbane Industrial Estate, Newry, Co. Down

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 35 hours per week (expected to participate in a clinical rota)

The USPCA is seeking a Head of Veterinary Surgery to lead our Animal Hospital in Newry – driving excellence in veterinary care while championing animal welfare across Northern Ireland. As Head Vet, you won’t just deliver outstanding care – you’ll influence standards, develop teams, and play a key role in advancing animal welfare through innovation, education and advocacy. From complex surgeries to supporting rescue and rehabilitation work, your expertise will directly impact the lives of companion animals and wildlife in need.

Our package includes:

  • Competitive salary of £50,000–£60,000
  • 25 days annual leave, plus 10 statutory holidays
  • RCVS, VDS and AVSPNI fees paid
