West Yorkshire. £38k - £60k DOE. Be a Vet. Have a Life. Both Matter Here. Imagine finishing your final consult and being within easy reach of the vibrant city of Leeds or heading the other direction to walk the trails of the Chevin with the Yorkshire Dales on the horizon.
The Independent Difference
At this family‑owned, independent practice the "best of both worlds" isn’t just a geographical lucky break, it’s the daily reality for the team. The vision is refreshingly simple: providing top‑tier clinical care to the local community without the pressure of a boardroom looking over your shoulder. As an RCVS‑accredited nurse training practice, the focus is on doing what is right for the pet and the owner, not hitting monthly targets. With over 100 years of combined experience across a friendly team of five, there is always a mentor nearby to talk through a complex case or offer a second opinion.
A Modern Practice
The equipment is anything but traditional. The practice is fully loaded for the curious clinician, featuring flexible and rigid endoscopy, digital radiography, and Doppler ultrasonography. Dermatology, cardiology, and advanced surgeries (such as TTA, MPL, and BOAS) are managed in-house, giving clinicians total continuity of care and a supportive learning environment where skills genuinely grow.
The Lifestyle Balance
The schedule is designed to let you truly breathe. A 4.5‑day week is standard, with a 1‑in‑5 Saturday rotation and no OOHs. Even better, the Friday after a worked weekend is a half‑day, ensuring that "work‑life balance" is more than just a buzzword. Splitting your time between the two branches offers a rewarding mix: consults and surgery at Yeadon, and consults only at Pudsey. While an experienced vet would be preferred, a kind, empathetic, and genuine team player matters just as much.
