Small Animal Veterinarian. Edmonton, Alberta CANADA. £62k – £80k pro rata. You are an animal lover and have been for as long as you can remember. You always knew working with animals would be your chosen career path. After many years of hard work, you qualified to be a vet and you love every day. Now you are in a position where you are looking for a change of direction, a new challenge or simply looking to expand your knowledge and skill set. You are an ambitious vet and the thought of practicing overseas excites you. What if we knew of a clinic where you can work with a team of friendly like-minded individuals, a place where ongoing learning and development is encouraged, no silly targets and a loyal customer base who appreciate what you do as they have been coming to you for years? Well, you're in luck as we do and this one is hiring. A modern independent practice in Albert Canada with dozens of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews is hiring for growth. Outgrowing their current practice very quickly a brand new purpose-built 5000 sq foot clinic is being planned. They are looking for a 1–2-year qualified GP vet with the ability to provide 1st opinion consultations and undertake surgical procedures. Lots of opportunities to develop your skills in the direction you want to. New graduates are welcome. Within this role you will see a variety of routine and medical appointments (eyes, ears, dermatology, limping, behaviour, weight management, urinary concerns, etc), perform surgical procedures such as spay, neuter, lump removal, wound repair, exploratory, dental cohat, to name a few. Companion animals only. Everyone pulls together when there’s work here, and relaxes when it’s time. A strong team that wants their best for patient and practice. Being independent, they are not in the crosshairs of corporate life, no one telling you what to do from afar, and no pointless targets – the job is tough enough without adding additional stress. They are all working towards the same goal. Ideas are shared, caseloads discussed and advice offered where you need it. It's a 4-day week here (8-hour shifts) with every second to third Saturday on rotation (9 am -2 pm). No after-hours on-call or bank holidays. During the week would be working with 2 other vets, on Saturday you would be alone or with one other vet, so there may be some sole charge. So, what’s in it for you? £62k – £80k pro rata. Paid Alberta Vet Medical Association Due, Education Allowance, Scrub Allowance, holiday pay on every pay cheque, direct deposit pay every two weeks, and a health plan available. Some accommodation assistance and relocation fees will be paid too. Edmonton is known as the Festival City in summer and hosts numerous events starting in May through August. The city also has a beautiful River Valley with great trails. Downtown has many different restaurants, art galleries, shops, museums and in the winter the NHL hockey team plays there.
