The Role
- 24 hours per week
- Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum (£60,000 FTE), dependent on experience
- Fixed shift pattern:
- Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm (consults; 30‑minute sick pet appointments as standard)
- Thursday: 9:00am – 8:00pm (consults; 30‑minute sick pet appointments as standard)
- 1 in 4 weekends*: Shift options: 7:30am – 6:00pm, 9:30am – 8:00pm, or 10:00am – 8:30pm
You will work alongside a full and well‑supported clinical team, typically including three vets per shift, managing:
- Hospital inpatients
- Emergency on‑the‑day consultations
- ECC procedures and surgery
Teams are carefully structured to ensure a balanced mix of skills across medicine, consulting, and surgery.
Clinical Development Opportunities
We are particularly interested in candidates with a passion or experience in:
- Ophthalmology
- Dermatology
- Feline medicine
There is excellent scope to develop your own referral clinics, supported by strong internal referral potential from 19 feeder practices connected to the hospital’s OOH and referral services.
