We’re looking for an Energy Control Coordinator to join our Field Support team—someone skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, committed to safety, and willing to collaborate on improving on-site tooling and operational excellence.
Field Support Department
The Field Support department is responsible for Vestas Electrical Safety Program of wind farms within the UK and Ireland. The department has an open and informal culture, where teamwork and good communication are the keys to our growth. Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated Energy Control Coordinator (ECC) and primary subject matter expert for the Vestas Electrical Safety Program across the wind farm, ensuring safe and compliant energy isolation and restoration activities.
- Act as an Authorising Engineer (AE) under the Vestas Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR), providing technical authority, issuing authorisations, and overseeing adherence to safety rules and operational controls.
- Perform duties as the designated Control Person in accordance with the Vestas Electrical Network Safety Rules (ENSR), including the creation, approval, and management of switching schedules, permits, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ensure full compliance with UK & Ireland legislation, including HASAWA, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, LOLER, PUWER, and all statutory requirements relevant to electrical and mechanical safety.
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation within the Vestas Safe System of Work (SSOW), including AWP’s, ROP’s, risk assessments, method statements, and operational procedures.
- Perform and conduct SSOW audits covering Vestas and subcontractor activities, including turbine quality audits, WTSR compliance audits, and verification of subcontractor adherence to Vestas safety rules.
- Assess and manage inherent and residual risks across electrical, mechanical, stored energy, pressure, thermal, and chemical hazards, ensuring robust mitigation strategies and safe operational practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in an electrical/mechanical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Relevant qualifications within the wind energy sector.
- Experience as an Authorised Technician, Authorising Engineer, and with High Voltage systems in the wind industry.
- Good computer literacy across software and related applications.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Full, clean driving licence.
