Tasks & responsibilities: You will…… be joining our blade factory on the Isle of Wight. You will work with talented and motivated colleagues, ensuring that we produce according to the documentation provided, using the right procedures and building in the right quality.You will also be responsible for:

  • Building blades in accordance with the production plan
  • Producing to the required quality standards based on the latest controlled document issued by Vestas
  • Keeping the work area safe and clean
  • Maintaining tools and facilities in own area
  • Working safely and ensuring colleagues do the same
  • Layup of material (carbon, glass fibre) in the moulds to the set layup plans
  • Application of resins under vacuum
  • Application of bonding materials
  • Using power tools to trim and grind, to achieve the required finish
  • Preparing material kits for other operatives
  • Contribute to quality improvement and Takt Time reduction activities
  • Shifts are rotating, we operate 24/7 production week, made up of 2 x 12.25 hour shifts per day, 4 on 4 off 06.45 – 19.00 (day shift / 4 days off) 18.45 – 07.00 (night shift / then 4 nights off) This is a fixed shift working pattern

Skills & experience: Our new colleague……enjoys working in a production environment and is motivated by always manufacturing high-quality products. You may have formal qualifications (NVQ/HND/HNC/City and Guilds) or you just have the right positive attitude and the desire to develop your skills. You have a quality and safety mind-set, and you enjoy working in teams where you can take responsibility and motivate your colleagues.We also expect that you:

  • Have problem solving skills you can apply in the production team
  • Perform tasks efficiently, following the work instructions
  • Have a professional attitude towards the management and our customers
  • Are flexible and have a proactive approach towards changes
