Would you like to join an innovative and inspiring manufacturing environment? Are you motivated by producing high-quality products and working as part of a skilled team? We are currently looking for a Production Operative to join our blade manufacturing facility on the Isle of Wight.

Tasks & Responsibilities

As a Production Operative, you will join our blade factory on the Isle of Wight, working alongside skilled and motivated colleagues to manufacture high-quality products in accordance with established procedures, documentation, and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building blades in accordance with the production plan
  • Manufacturing products to the required quality standards using the latest controlled documentation issued by Vestas
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work area
  • Looking after tools and equipment within your work area
  • Following safe working practices and encouraging colleagues to do the same
  • Performing lay-up of materials (carbon fibre and glass fibre) in moulds according to lay-up plans
  • Applying resins using vacuum equipment
  • Applying bonding materials as required
  • Using power tools for trimming and grinding to meet the required finish
  • Preparing material kits for fellow operatives
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including quality improvements and Takt Time reduction activities

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a fixed rotating shift pattern within our 24/7 manufacturing environment:

  • 4 days on, 4 days off: 06:45 - 19:00 (Day Shift)
  • 4 nights on, 4 days off: 18:45 - 07:00 (Night Shift)

Each shift is 12.25 hours in duration.

Skills & Experience

Our ideal colleague enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You may hold formal qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, HND, or City & Guilds, or simply demonstrate a solid work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to developing your skills.
