Vestas Technology & Operations > Frontend Engineering & Technology > Technical Sales NCE Offshore, UK & Ireland. NCE Offshore Technical Sales Management is anchored in Vestas Technology & Operations, where new product ideas and technologies are developed, matured, tested, and improved.

Our department is the offshore-focused arm of our Vestas Technology & Operations - NCE regional organization, providing the link between our regional business unit and our customer needs towards the central technology and R&D team, responsible for global product development in Vestas.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively contribute to the scoping, technical value engineering and technical contracting from the electrical and grid side and being a part of the technical negotiations as an active member of the Technical Sales team on offshore wind projects in Northern and Central Europe.
  • Ensure timely responses to customer enquiries, research and prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders. Build relationships with the key functional counterparts in your customers' organization.
  • Take ownership for relevant parts of technical risk assessment & mitigation during the sales phase and own the relevant technical annexes and contract schedules.
  • Collect relevant electrical data and customer/site/grid requirements for project grid integration studies, in collaboration with SMEs from R&D and product development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Project Execution teams during the Construction and Commissioning phases, supporting electrical simulation/grid study phases, preparing grid compliance test protocols (plans and procedures), and supporting during test execution.
  • Hold technical meetings with customers, contractors, grid operators & utilities and certification bodies, keep a continuous track of the local rules & legislation, effectively engage with system operators, and participate in working groups.
  • Work closely with Product Strategy & Product Management functions, ensuring the necessary feedback to enable future products and solutions which meet customer expectations and market requirements.
Qualifications

As an ideal candidate, you are expected to have:

  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems including 5+ years' experience in a similar position.
  • Significant knowledge of regulatory electrical requirements and grid codes; it would be particularly beneficial to have knowledge of grid code requirements in Germany or UK.
  • Knowledge in power system analyses and studies (steady state and transient studies such as short circuit, load flow, FRT, power quality).
  • Knowledge of power system simulation software such as DIgSILENT/PSCAD/PSSE.
  • Knowledge about HV/MV of (offshore) WTG equipment, wider offshore power plant electrical components and power systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and networks, PLC hardware, SCADA systems and communication interfaces beneficial.
