Overview
As an Engineer in IOW Production Engineering at Vestas, you optimize and continually improve blade manufacturing processes to deliver high-quality renewable energy solutions. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Quality, Lean, and HQ Engineering to ensure robust process control, safety, and efficiency while supporting new products and technology transfers. This role offers hands-on leadership in process improvements and NPI activities with a focus on impact, quality, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities
- Manage PFMEA activities and maintain control documentation aligned with change processes (QBD, ECM, ToCI)
- Meet SQDCP objectives through process design, control plans, layouts, capability management, and workforce balancing
- Define and maintain manufacturing processes, testing requirements, tooling specifications, and process documentation
- Support first-time-right quality via process confirmations, layered audits, and poka-yoke solutions
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives with Lean Engineering using data trends to boost efficiency
- Govern Engineering Change Management (ECM) and ensure effective process changes in the factory
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Technology Transfer (TT) projects with cross-functional teams and HQ
- Collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and external teams to ensure robust implementation of new products and technologies
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven experience managing engineering projects and delivering process improvements
- Core Tools training and certification: PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Experience supporting NPI activities in manufacturing environments
