The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing a team in the safe execution of the daily production plan and associated support activities scheduled in their process area of responsibility.

Leadership and Direction

  • Accountable for team performance in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Promote a positive environment fostering safety, collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
  • Set an example as a Vestas ambassador, demonstrating core values of accountability, collaboration, simplicity, and ownership.
  • Encourage team participation, ownership, and continuous improvement through input on process improvements.
  • Translate leadership goals into tasks and drive completion of the daily production schedule.
  • Provide clear communication and ensure open, bi‑directional communication among team members, support groups, suppliers, customers, and management.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct 1:1 coaching, evaluations, and develop Process Leads.

Safety

  • Model safe behavior, hazard recognition, and incident prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, policies, and environmental, health and safety practices, including Vestas Lifesaving Rules.
  • Conduct daily and monthly safety inspections, correct hazards, and enforce proper PPE usage.
  • Alert support functions when non‑standard processes are needed and help create job hazard analyses.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses with the safety representative.
  • Treat tools or equipment that present safety risks immediately.

Quality

  • Ensure adherence to all quality standards and specifications and follow all work instructions outlined in PWIs, Technical Specs, 1‑Ps, and Quality Messages.
  • Lead or conduct quality walks and inspections as prescribed by the control plan.
  • Report IRFs and QDA timely and issue non‑conformities for process deviations and defects.
  • Contribute to defect/NC root‑cause/corrective action exercises and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Verify accuracy of build documentation and raise issues to Technical Support and/or Quality Engineering.

Training

  • Maintain current competency for all team members and deliver line orientation and risk review training.
  • Develop and mentor high‑potential employees and Process Leads.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards through 5S concepts and program adoption.
  • Apply lean tools and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support, incorporate, and audit first‑line preventative maintenance during daily activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • College education or a degree in a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams with adaptability and flexibility.
  • Strong desire to learn new skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent work ethic, dependability, and dedication to team and company values.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP/MRP systems, and CRM databases.
