We are currently looking for a Production Operative to join our blade manufacturing facility on the Isle of Wight.

Responsibilities

  • Build blades in accordance with the production plan.
  • Manufacture products to the required quality standards using the latest controlled documentation issued by Vestas.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area.
  • Look after tools and equipment within your work area.
  • Follow safe working practices and encourage colleagues to do the same.
  • Perform lay‑up of materials (carbon fibre and glass fibre) in moulds according to lay‑up plans.
  • Apply resins using vacuum equipment.
  • Apply bonding materials as required.
  • Use power tools for trimming and grinding to meet the required finish.
  • Prepare material kits for fellow operatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including quality improvements and Takt Time reduction activities.
  • Shift Pattern

This role operates on a fixed rotating shift pattern within our 24/7 manufacturing environment: 4 days on, 4 days off. Day Shift: 06:45 – 19: h). Night Shift: 18:45 – 07: h).

Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, HND, or City & Guilds, or a solid work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a production team.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently while following work instructions and procedures.
  • Professional attitude towards colleagues, management, and customers.
  • Capacity to handle shifting priorities and schedules with a positive approach.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Solid commitment to quality and safety.
