Vesalic is a London-based biotechnology company developing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases, with an initial focus on Motor Neuron Disease (ALS). By combining biomarker discovery, extracellular vesicle biology, artificial intelligence, and translational medicine, Vesalic aims to transform the way neurodegenerative diseases are diagnosed and treated.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Paralegal & Corporate Affairs Associate to support the CEO and leadership team across a broad range of legal, corporate governance, HR, and operational activities. This is a flexible, part-time consultancy role (approximately 1–2 days per week) and would suit an experienced paralegal, legal operations professional, company secretarial professional, or corporate administrator who enjoys working in a dynamic start-up environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the company manage its legal, governance, and corporate affairs efficiently while coordinating with external legal counsel and service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, review, organisation, and tracking of NDAs, consultancy agreements, employment agreements, service contracts, and other corporate documents.
  • Maintain corporate records, governance documentation, and legal document repositories.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and corporate advisers.
  • Track key corporate actions, deadlines, filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with Board and shareholder meeting preparation.
  • Coordinate agendas, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain corporate governance records and statutory documentation.
  • Support cap table administration, option plans, and related corporate documentation.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Assist with employment-related documentation and HR administration.
  • Maintain personnel records and policy documentation.
  • Coordinate with external HR providers and consultants as required.
  • Provide administrative and project support directly to the CEO.
  • Assist with special projects, strategic initiatives, and operational tasks as required.
  • Help ensure that information, documents, and processes are organised, accurate, and accessible.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, legal operations professional, company secretarial professional, corporate administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • English as a first language preferred.
  • Experience supporting start-ups, venture-backed companies, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences organisations would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with UK corporate governance, employment administration, and company secretarial matters is desirable.
