How to prepare for a job interview at VES Recruitment

✨Know Your Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of the UK education system and the specific needs of primary school students. Familiarise yourself with common teaching methods and strategies for supporting children, especially those with special educational needs (SEN). This will show that you're not just passionate but also well-informed.

✨Show Your Passion

During the interview, let your enthusiasm for working with children shine through. Share personal experiences or anecdotes that highlight your dedication to supporting young learners. This can really set you apart from other candidates who may not convey the same level of commitment.

✨Prepare for Scenario Questions

Expect to be asked how you would handle specific situations in the classroom. Think about examples where you've successfully supported a child’s learning or managed a challenging behaviour. Practising these scenarios can help you articulate your approach clearly and confidently.

✨Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the school's approach to inclusivity or how they support their teaching assistants. This shows that you're genuinely interested in the role and want to ensure it's the right fit for both you and the school.
