We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team, working in primary schools in Merthyr Tydfil. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the learning and development of students, while gaining valuable experience in a classroom environment.

What is required:

  • Experience in a UK school setting
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain a new one
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (Level 2 or 3)
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their development
  • 1 to 1 experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, adaptability and a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Support individual students or small groups in their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assist with classroom management, including setting up materials and resources
  • Supervise students during break times and extracurricular activities
  • Support pupils with their reading, writing, and numeracy skills
