We are thrilled to be hiring qualified Special Education (SEN) Teaching/Support Assistants to work as supply in schools in Aberdare. The ideal candidate needs to be hardworking and committed to their role. Further to this, Teaching Assistants may be required to work with children on a one to one basis or support them with additional needs. Therefore candidates are expected to provide support in various ways.
These vacancies cover planned and unplanned absences such as sicknesses, maternity, paternity and courses. Therefore, you may be called to work the same day and should be prepared for early morning calls.
All staff, temporary working and candidates must be aware of VES’ Safeguarding Policy and must follow all procedures to protect children and vulnerable adults. Also, VES are committed to protecting children and vulnerable adults through a careful recruitment and selection process, a whistle-blowing policy and guidance on appropriate behaviour. Furthermore, VES’s rigorous procedures ensure that any candidate found to have a history of unacceptable conduct or practice, will not be placed.

Applicants Require:
- Significant experience working in ALN or Care environments
- A relevant teaching or care qualification
- Experience in a UK Classroom
What you’ll need to register:
- An enhanced DBS check which is subscribed to the Update Service or willing to undergo one with VES (Please note all DBS’ must be in the correct category and must state that you are working with the Child Workforce.)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Minimum of two referees, to cover the last 24 months of employment.
- Complete our online Safeguarding course.
- Have one of the above qualifications.
